Hike in minimum salary limit to Rs. 15,000 by Employees Provident Fund Organisation

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (‘EFPO’) has amended the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 by increasing the minimum wage limit for contribution to Employees’ Provident Fund (‘EPF’) to Rs. 15,000/- per month from its earlier limit of Rs. 6,500/- per month, vide its circular no. Actuarial/18(2)2008/Vol.III/7738 dated August 29, 2014. The proposed amendment has been notified under the Gazette Notification No. GSR 609 (E) and comes into effect from September 1, 2014 (‘Effective Date’).
